Feeling Under The Weather - What To Eat?

Raimie has been quite unwell during the weekdays, and as a result he hasn't been eating much. He was willing to eat some porridge but how much porridge can you take? Fried food are definitely a no-no for him.

I'm trying to figure out what to make for him and us during the weekend that all of us can enjoy. Something soupy and light would be best and these food came to mind because they not only taste nice, they are easy to make too!

or Soba
Mmmmm... yummm... gotta do some cooking now!

  1. salam lina,

what abt trying some chill/cold soba that dip in the soba dashi. Get soba dashi in the bottle, just boil the soba. Throw some ice and shrupp, shrupp...nikmat.

  2. I think nabe is a good idea, but maybe reduce the ingredients a bit and have more soup in it. :)

  3. @Kak Lela,
mmm.. memang sounds delicious, esp on a hot day like today. Thanks!

Zaini & I can eat the ingredients and Raimie drink the soup. Evil or not? LOL

  4. Lol lina. I'm sure Raimie can take some of the ingredients too ^_^

  5. The Nabe and pasta (Japanesse version?) looks yummy! Or else sandwiches is also a good idea?

  6. I have to say the nabe looks the mnost interesting dish at this point. It all looks healthy enough.

  7. @Jim,
Well, I'll give him some... :D

    @Mei Teng,
The pasta is indeed turned into a Japanese version.

I like the nabe most too...

  8. when my kids r sick, they've no real appetite to eat anything. i hope it's not so bad to prevent you guys from being able to enjoy the weekend.

  9. i love the pasta and the nabe.. yummm yummm

  10. @Life Ramblings,
Luckily after not having any appetite during the weekdays, he ate everything that I cooked for him this weekend even though it is just a simple porridge. :)

    Thanks for commenting. :)

  11. The unusually hot weather is making my kids sick too. :(

I'm also giving them lots of fluids and fibre. Porridge is too hot for them with this weather, so they prefer cooled noodles. :)

  12. @ECL,
thanks. Happy Mother's Day to you too!

It is quite nowadays. I'm feeling dehydrated every single moment. :(

  13. I guess the weekend is over. I hope he is feeling better..

Some cold noodles might be the best given the weather

  14. @Prometheus,
    yeah, weekend is over. :(
He is feeling better but unfortunately he quite enjoyed the days off that he was quite reluctant to go to school this morning. :D

  15. Those are all good lina, hope raimie recovers soon. May i suggest Dumpling soup or gyoza soup. Something tasty and easy to prepare.

  16. @Ayie,
    Thanks for the suggestions. :)

  17. The hot weather is getting to me too! Having headaches! All those food you mention are great! As long as no fried foods and baked stuffs.

  18. @foong,
Poor you. You know what they said about cure for headache, don't you?

I hate walking to office, not yet start work already have sweat. Takut smelly. :D

  19. You said their hours of operation were from 12.00pm to 2.30pm for lunch and from 6.30pm to 10.00pm for dinner. Geesh - they're not open much, particularly for a buffet style restaurant.
