Stopped by at Jusco's supermarket to check out the food section and got interested at the korokke on sale. It is actually another version of the French croquette which is deep fried rolls of mashed potatos with other addition such as meat, milk, curry, etc and encased in breadcrumbs.

It's not often that croquettes are sold in nihon ryori spots. Call me conservative but I still like potato croquette XD
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy. I have seen these before but never sank my teeth into one. A must try! :)
ReplyDeleteEh... looks interesting, which Jusco outlet is that?
ReplyDelete@Jim,
ReplyDeletesome "normal" filling would be nice compared to just plain potato for me. :)
@Mei Teng,

@pikey,
At Jusco Mid Valley. Available daily from RM1.60 (potato korokke) to RM1.80 (with fillings). (Damn - I should get paid doing promotion for Jusco. LOL)
Ooh! I would love to try the durian flavour! Never tried korokke before, but then again I don't really like fried stuffs : )
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they sell it at Jusco in 1Utama. I heard that Jusco might be moving out of 1Utama - wonder if you know it's true or not.
ReplyDelete@foong,
ReplyDeleteof course you don't... you lead a healthy lifestyle.
They may sell korokke at 1Utama but I'm not sure. Never like going to the Supermarket there. Waaaay too many people. Jusco moving out of 1Utama? That's news. Maybe I can kaypoh some news out from friends on Monday. :D
What is the meat inside the one you are holding? It looks like it might be pepperoni or some other italian type of meat.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the mystery meat?
That's baby octopus. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I am not that healthy lah. I do occasionally indulge in fried food like pisang goreng, fried keropok, fried rice, yau char kuay, fried chicken, tempura, fried nian gao, etc. etc. Gosh! Eating too much fried things already! Must cut down! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if the rumours about Jusco moving out of 1Utama is true or not if you have reliable sources! : )
Oooh, I love Korokke!
