I like browsing through our old photos. I got this idea of putting up several photos of my mug in my other blog, Lina's Backyard but can you believe it - there isn't much photo of myself in our whole collection of photos!
I asked a friend of mine who is an avid photographer about how many photos of himself in his vacation album and he told me that out of the few hundreds photos of his vacation in Beijing last December, he was in the photos for about 15 photos!
I didn't fare much better - because we only use one camera between the three of us, and the camera is always being monopolised by me; there were so few photos of me but of course there were plenty of Raimie's. I do wish there were more photos of the three of us, like the one I posted here, but then, I don't really like asking for strangers to take photographs of me!
I am hardly in any of my vacation photos coz I am the one behind the lens! :) I actually don't mind coz I just enjoy creating images more than being photographed.

ReplyDeleteI also do not have a lot of photos of myself but I think I have more than you haha! That's because, usually I would take 2 photos of a similar scenery - one with me in it (for my own keeping) and one without me in it (for my blog) LOL!

i have been snubbed before when i asked strangers to help take photos especially in the bigger towns. hence i seldom have my own pics too

ReplyDeleteI find that "Mat Salleh" are more friendly in offering to take your photos. :D But I never turned down a request.
I guess if we want our photos in, we have to get our tripod along.
Anyways, I never get asked to take people's photo in Malaysia but I was always asked to take photos when vacationing in Japan. One tourist who asked me to take her photo had the gall of thinking that I was unable to comprehend English!

Actually, I think I only look good in photos when Zaini took my photos. *^_^*
You will just have to go back to these places again and include yourself in the photos! :) I'm usually not in photos either until I started using Facebook. Go ahead and ask strangers to take your photo. The worst case is they can say 'no'.
