I Think I'm In Love Again....

With another Korean drama...

The Animax Channel on my cable, ASTRO put in a few Korean shows aside from the Japanese anime fares and one of the show currently being shown is Coffee Prince. It used to be shown on 8TV a couple of years back, but I wasn't too crazy about it back then because it was dubbed into Mandarin. I tell you... I really, really hate watching anything dubbed, be it into English, Malay, Mandarin or Cantonese.

Luckily, on Animax, I can watch it in its original language and OMG.... have I fallen hard for this show (not to mention fallen for the lead actor, Gong Yoo)! I've pulled an all-nighter for two weekends in a row watching all 17 episodes back to back. I spend a whole night just reading up all the episodes recaps. My eyes feel so heavy... I can only open them in slits today! LOL
The OST for this drama is another reason to watch. I love all the songs in there.

A brief synopsis:

The life of Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?

Zaini asked me why I am so infatuated with Coffee Prince.

Well, this drama reminded me so much of the two of us before we became a couple, ages ago. And Zaini can be rather like Han Kyul sometimes. He can be so annoying that I don't want to talk to him one minute and he can be so thoughtful the next. Let's just say this drama made me feel I was back in my 20s again. :p

Zaini surprised me on Friday with a box DVD set of Coffee Prince because I was grumbling over the fact that it was so hard to watch all the episodes online and downloading it was such a pain in the ass with my broadband connection. I wanted to buy the DVD but it cost so much.... I guess I was whining far too much for over a week that Zaini went ahead and got it for me. I was happy and touched as well but 20 minutes later I was ready to strangle Zaini for something he did (or rather omitted to do). ^-^!

Another reason I love Coffee Prince is this man on the left. Total eye candy.

And oh! oh! oh! You should see the kissing scenes. It'll make you want to pounce on your partner and share a kiss. I swear! *^-^*

Now, if you excuse me... I'm going for a third round of drama marathon. I'll be neglecting my blogs, my Entrecard dropping and pretty much everything else for a couple more weekends, I think.

  1. looks like you've been bitten by the korean drama bug instead of football. :):)

  2. Haha! While others are crazy watching 22 men chasing after a round ball, you're watching Korean dramas! Well, I caught a glimpse of an episode the other day on Animax. I liked the drama too because of Lee Sun Gyun (the guy who acted as Han Seong.. he's so hot too!!) ... =)

  3. watch that too..we also have animax here i n the Philippines and they also air Coffee Prince and even though ive watch the whole series twice (one in the internet and one in a local channel) i still tune in animax to watch it..because it's one of my favorite kdrama! Goo Yoo is so hot..agree!

  4. Ye la...
Coffee Prince mmg best, but i like Full House more~~

  5. Korean hunks are a good looking bunch eh? ;)

I remembered seeing the title of the movie being shown on tv. I watched a senseless Korean movie on Sunday afternoon. Don't understand the storyline. Was a weird watch.

  6. @Life Ramblings & Cindy,
I let Zaini watch 22 men run around a football field and I went on a drama marathon. Good balance, eh? :D
No need to squabble over who gets the TV.

  7. @Cindy,
Lee Sun Gyun is soooooo sexy, don't ya think?

  8. @riza,
Me too. It's never enough. LOL
Can't wait for more of Gong Yoo now that he finished military service.

  9. @Su,
I like Full House too.... but some episodes get on my nerves. LOL
Anyway, I'm a bigger fan of Gong Yoo than of Rain. ;)

  10. @Mei Teng,
Some Korean drama are crappy for me. There are not many Korean dramas that I like, truthfully. I am not a fan of the hugely popular Winter Sonata.
Zaini remarked that this drama is weird and wondered why I like it. ^-^

Goong which is currently on Animax has pretty senseless storyline, but it's fun to watch. Was it that one that you watched?

  11. u r so blessed to have something that u enjoy so much

  12. Very nice meh, Korean dramas? I don't really like them. Maybe some are nice, but I am more into HK TVB dramas. More exciting and the plot lines are really really good.

  13. But I think I know why you like - bcos of the good looking actor right? Hahaha!!

  14. Now don't get too addicted and neglect your blogging! : D

  15. @bengbeng,
though watching too much of the things I like can disrupt my social life..... ;)

  16. @foong,
some nice, some not. I only like a few Korean dramas anyway, preferring their variety program more.

Hahaha... you caught me there! Korean actors are so HOT! Of course, my eyes will be glued to the screen watching them. LOL

  17. I havent really given korean dramas a chance. Reason being, korean dramas from the little I have seen are similar to Japanese in a sense that the acting is horrid. I think no matter how good the plot is, bad acting is a deal breaker

  18. I've seen this drama before, not too crazy about it though, just OK I guess. Agree that Gong Yoo is an eye candy, one of few Korean actors that looks manly enough in my eyes :)

  19. @Prometheus,
True, plenty of bad acting in Korean (and Japanese) dramas. Though some gem can be found once in a while. ;)
I actually haven't seen any Japanese drama in ages. The only Japanese show I watch nowadays are the animes.

  20. @Evan's Mom,
    He is manly. ^-^
Too many pretty boys in Korean entertainment scene nowadays. Not that I'm complaining, though. :D

  21. Now don't get too addicted and neglect your blogging! : D

  22. My wife is into Korean dramas too. She's watching a historical drama and I picked up how to say "Yes, your majesty". I might start studying Korean.

  23. hi lina!

  24. @sunnysan,
unfortunately, seems like this blog did get a bit neglected. ;p

  25. @sixmats,
Did you use the"Yes, your Majesty" to her, then? :P

I wanted to learn Korean too... but then, haven't really started getting serious abt my Japanese...

  26. @Ayie,
The drama is totally addictive! ^-^

Playing White love story song made me smile to myself often. ;)

  27. I like this post! And thanks for the tips help me to be a good negotiation
