I Need My Meals On Time

Me, hungry at Omiya Station
I think I am generally an easy going person when it comes to travelling. I don't mind hardship and if it's not because of Raimie, I wouldn't mind sleeping anywhere even at a sidewalk if we have to! I can walk for hours and hours. I can lug around heavy luggages, no problem. (OK, OK, I can be fussy about service but I don't throw tantrums about it).

But one thing that is non-negotiable for me is food. I need to fill my tummy before it starts to rumble. I can be extremely grumpy when I'm hungry and yes, I pick fights on empty stomach!

Feed me on time and I'll stay nice to you. I promise! LOL

  5. Girl, you and I are on the same boat *HIGH FIVE* Many a times when we travel I do go all Oscar The Grouch with my husband, he being mat salleh can tahan lah not having brekkie terus jalan..me being Asian with a small tummy mana leh tahan! Or is it just men in general can go out for walks for hours without anything in the tummy. Nowadays when we travel I'd go out and eat something while hes still snoring away in bed. I aint no machine ...i need my nutritions before I walk that thousand miles

  6. @cuteandcurls,
Zaini sometimes forgot that I need to fuel up when we were out walking and always seemed surprised when I go all grumpy to him. xD

We Asians have to eat 5 times a day! So used to breakfast, tea, lunch, dinner, supper! LOL

You go out and eat breakfast alone? Lucky for me, Zaini does the waking up part and get me eat my breakfast. ;p

  9. I am almost as same as you. I make it a rule to eat lunch at noon, supper at 6PM. So when I go to hiking with a group, I carry extra bread with Japanese lunch(Bento). When our group would not start to eat lunch at noon. I would start to eat the extra bread by myself. I can not endure being hungry.

  11. @minor,
You do have to plan ahead when travelling in a group. :)

For us, we might buy a bento and carry it around if we go to places we think might not be easy to find a place to eat.

  12. @cuteandcurls,
Zaini sleeps a lot at home during weekends but on our vacation, he is the one up bright and early. And that would mean up by 7.00am, down for breakfast by 8.00am without fail!

We do have a lot of "makan" time, kan? That's why we need those Mamak place to open 24hours! LOL

  13. Wow your Zaini is an early bird during vacation ah ..my mat during weekends can sleep till afternoon, i dont blame him also cos work does tire him out LOL..soon the baby will tire him out ^_^ Yep we have alot of 'makan' time indeed ...

  14. @cuteandcurls,
    He is indeed. ^^

And I'm the early bird at home.

For Zaini, I don't mind him sleeping a lot on weekends. That leaves me plenty of time to do my own thing, which is working out. Whenever I'm bored at home, I exercise. ;p

A man after my own stomach! LOL

Sleepwise, I don't need them much so depriving my sleep is not a big issue. Just don't forget to feed me. ^^!

  23. @LV,
    Well said! ^^

I can't go hungry so I don't go on diet. Imagine me on a diet. Everyday everyone "kena" scolded by me. Not a good thought, that. xD

  31. @AVCr8teur,
And I am so glad I'm not the only one with this "bad" behaviour. ^^

It's been ages since I did any sidewalk sleeping (heck! it's been ages since I last spend the night in the airport, come to think of it) but worse come to worse, I think I can still do it.

  32. @ECL,
    Such willpower! o.O

The only time I can stand not eating is during the fasting month. That is the only time I can last and function without eating from sunrise to sundown. ;p

  33. @ristinw,
Those nasty people must be those who didn't eat, I think. We all need food to be "nice"! LOL

How many hours sleep do you need?Full 8 hours? I stopped having 8 hours sleep ever since I gave birth. XD

  34. @Japan Australia,
I really was hungry. That's why I ate that bento at a bus station! Because I just can't wait any longer and the thought of finding a nice park to eat it was excruciating for me! Need to eat now! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  35. I know exactly what you mean!!!!
People have almost died because they didn't think to feed me. :P
Normally insanely patient and unbothered by stuff, but... if there's hunger involved... grrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Ri,
Imagine the carnage we can causse if people let the two of us on the loose while not being fed. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah~ me too. It is good for health.
I become same expression on my face. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  38. @birdmini,

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Alice,
Scared to be your neighbour. Imagine the KMs I have to run after eating your delicious pastries. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  42. It's not nice to be hungry, but what is worse, for me, is some horrible uncomfortable place to sleep. It makes me feel bad for the next day!

    ReplyDelete
  43. We also love food but when we travel we normaly don't eat at noon. Only in the morning and evening.

    Greetings,
    Filip

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Jenny,
You need a comfy bed! Well, me too actually but I'd skip sleep over food anytime. XD

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Filip,
You skip lunch. I can never skip lunch on my vacation. I get too hungry. ;P

But I don' mind not eating dinner. ^^

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh! I think you will be a good travel partner! I don't like to travel with people who are too fussy and easily gets tired. Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  47. But I don't think I will want to sleep at the sidewalk! That's too extreme for me! LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh, of course must have food to fill the tummy if not where got energy to walk and walk for hours and hours right? : D

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anyway, one of the main reasons I travel is to enjoy the food so sure must have food during my travel! If a country or place I visit have no food to offer me, I won't go back there again! Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  50. @foong,
But if we checked-in to a starred hotel, I can be really fussy. I am the type that checked under the bed upon entering my room in a 5-star hotel! Though I lower my standards accordingly for cheaper hotels. LOL

Yes, need fuel for walking for hours on end daily! Some more, don't want my gastric to act up while we are on vacation. o.O
