On A Bleak Winter's Day

Cold and raw the north wind doth blow
Bleak in the morning early
All the hills covered with snow
And winter's come now fairly

Still very, very cold in Tokyo?

Snow looks lovely and all that, but I sure think being cold will just make me miserable.

  1. "Still very, very cold in Tokyo?" Yes. Max daytime temperatures remain below 10 °C, and at night it's around 0. I've read predictions that this will be a long winter. Sigh. (Heh heh. Six months from now I'll be complaining bitterly about the heat and the humidity.)

    That's another lovely quote ...

    1. Long winter.... ugh. Well, at least you are going to spend March back in SA! Think happy thoughts to go through this winter. ;)

  2. It has been a cold winter in Japan this year and February is usually the coldest month. Great for the ski and snowboarding season but looking forward to the warm and cherry blossoms of spring, which are at the peak of their bloom in Okinawa at the moment. Not too much longer to wait for the mainland :)

    1. I've seen lovely photos of the blossoms in Okinawa posted by online friends. :)

Can't wait to see more photo by bloggers!

Skiing and snowboarding sounds fun, but I don't know how to do both, yet... ;p

  4. I love snow, but not that much! > . < My finger is sore and swollen (a little) not even in weather below zero. So, I guess I won't survive if it snows in my place.

    1. Yeah, snow at ski resorts is nice. Elsewhere, maybe not so much. ;)

  6. That is why I loved this island (Okinawa). In winter, it is cold (sometimes 10c) but not snowing. And in summer it is hot but not blazing at 30-32c.

Many people are dying in their own houses now in Japan, avalanche and other snow accidents.

Hope it will not last too long.

    1. Okinawa sounds nice. I'll have to make sure I get the chance to visit your beloved island someday, Kak Lela! :)

I hope it will not last long too and that casualties due to the cold season be minimal.

  8. We had about 5 inches of snow on Sunday.
    But it's all gone now.
Last night it was minus 7 degrees, colder than Helsinki! Ha...

    I miss Malaysia sunshine.

    1. No more snow? All melted already kah?

      -7 degrees. Sooooo COLD!

You can have a bot of Malaysia sunshine. I wish it's not so hot at 10.00am. At that time, already roasted when going outdoors! Especially since it's hard to get shades under trees when walking out nowadays, except at the parks. :(

    2. I know so cold I had to turn the heater on.
I usually wear more warm clothes at home, so I don't have to reply on the heater.
But I could only withstand up to certain limit.
Beyond that point, my hands are trembling in the cold.

Also cannot have the heat on all the time, electric bill very expensive huh...

    3. Electricity bill.

Good thing about Malaysia. I don't have ac at home, so electricity bill less than RM30 every month. I sure choke paying bills if I live in four seasons countries! ;)

Stay warm! Don't stinge on the heater. ;p
