Two actually. We didn't bring our camera tripod and we didn't ask anyone take our photos with the Tokyo Sky Tree in the background.
Tokyo Sky Tree officially opens today! WOOT!
Check out Tokyo Sky Tree's website for more info.
But for more fun information plus really awesome photos, with varying stages of the tower's completion during the past years, do check out Rurousha's. Dru has a post up too.
Who won the lottery to go up the tower? ^^

If you feed me enough chocolate, I'll take plenty of photos of all three plus tower during your next visit! ^^
ReplyDeleteToday's the opening, but it's overcast and it will rain throughout most of the day. :( Lottery losers rather than winners, though I guess they can still enjoy the shopping complex.
I'll resolutely stick to my decision to wait till autumn before I go up.
Dru also has a new post about the best viewing spots with and without a dog. :)
But the first day visitors still experience the novelty of being first on the tower. There should be some kind of commomerative item/gifts for that, no? :)
DeleteI'll stock up on the chocolates. I think I'd need a suitcase full of them in 2014. You think that'll be ample to please the jungle woman? ;p
I was wondering whether Sky Tree would compensate the lottery winners in some way, but I guess the weather is always a gamble. I think the shopping complex itself should keep anybody busy for, oh, maybe 17 days ...
DeleteOne suitcase full of chocolate = one photo. :D
Man, the jungle woman sure is expensive! LOL
DeleteA big opening for both Tokyo and Japan and hope that it does bring back the tourists in droves :)
ReplyDeleteJapan Australia
I bet it does. Judging from the interested crowd even before its completion, the area would be teeming with tourists. :)
DeleteUnfortunately, it rained. However, the owner of the sky tree said, "(Sky) tree needs water. So it's lucky to see rain today." Nice comment.
ReplyDeleteChinese believe that rain brings "ong" or good luck too.
DeleteAwww, that's a nice comment! "A tree needs water!" Awww ...
DeleteLet's hope the tree and all under its shade will continue to flourish. ^^
DeleteWoot woot ^ o^ I love visiting towers.
ReplyDeleteand you shouldn't miss this one when you are in Tokyo! Visit the area too! :)
DeleteTokyo Sky Tree again? Will this be the last post about this world's tallest tower? : D
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.
DeleteAnd I think there is absolutely nothing wrong talking about the tower again and again! xD
Yes, it's finally opened to public!! So when are you going up there? : D
ReplyDeleteWhen we get to Tokyo, of course.
DeleteIt's in the area we always stay in, when we visit Tokyo after all. :)
