A Stroll By The River

Sumida River

Why did I chose this haiku from other haikus on Sumida River? I'm celebrating the arrival of summer and also the mozzies too! ^^

with mosquitoes
Early morning view of the river. Taken when I went for my solitary morning jaunt when we were in Asakusa last year.
And these, by Zaini when we took a stroll by the river and ended up in Kinshicho the day before.

Now tell  me it isn't nice to take a long, leisurely walk by the river?

p.s. Zaini doesn't seem to be against a June trip but that trip will have to wait. After all, we are already in mid-June now!

  1. No prizes for guessing which one is my favourite photo! :D That second shot with The River and The Tree is just gorgeous.

Mozzies! Ugh. Mozzies always zero in on me. It must be because I'm so sweet.

June is a possibility? Great! ^^ I hope you'll spend a few days in the shitamachi again - there's so much happening here in summer!

    1. I'm sweet too! Bwahaha!!!

      June is a possibility. YES!

It may take away precious study (read cramming) time for Raimie for will be sitting for his BIG primary school exam in 2014 but I'm going to plan ahead anyway. After all, that boy needs a break or two, right?

    2. A boy needs a break, and a bit of motivation ... and lots of time in planes and trains to study! ^^ Anyway, a happy mommy will be able to provide much better moral support to her young genius, no? ;)

    3. I am so going to force Zaini to read this comment. :)

But dragon mommies here will shudder at our viewpoint for motivating a child to study. ;p

  2. Sumida is one of the best spots in Tokyo to catch the Tokyo Skytree from a distance. Lots of great photo opportunities :)

  11. Happy Summer! Maybe you can convince Zaini to visit Japan 4 different seasons, but I'm sure it's beautiful no matter when.
