One Fine Spring Day

five years ago. It would be exactly five years on Monday, Mar 25th, since these photos were taken.

Hadn't been back to Japan to enjoy the Spring season ever since Raimie started school. School holiday in Mar is only a week! It's starting next Monday and that boy of mine is so darn happy about it and had already bugged his Daddy to go to the bookstore tomorrow. ^^

Spring, enjoyed with the masses, in Ueno. At Ueno Park, to be exact.

The boy was happy to be running and playing around but boy, was he happy when he was allowed to play his Nintendo DS while taking a breather too.

It was a perfect weather for a paddle boat outing too, that day at Shinobazu Pond.

Enjoying the sights, and birds too. (The animal kind, not the human kind. heh heh... Though I definitely wouldn't mind ogling at blokes myself. heee)
A 6 year old, all tired out from running around the park. Zzzzzzz...

p.s. This happen to be one of my favourite photos of my boy and his Dad. ^^

  1. The blossoms are gorgeous, of course, but actually, ne, you can just publish photos of Raimie. That one of him sleeping on his dad's shoulder is so cute!

PS: Raimie was so small compared to now, and you had long hair, but Zaini's grin has remained the same. :)

    1. Well, I had to make an excuse if posting his photos here... To comply with the blog's theme and all that, y'know. :-D

  2. I went to Ueno Park a few days ago, but haven't been there since we've had full bloom. It's been a cold, cloudy weekend with unpleasant weather for hanami. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for midweek sunshine so that I can do one more walkpedition. ^^

    1. Just walkpedition?

No hanami with a group of people, drinking beer and bellowing out songs on the karaoke or something? No fun! :-D

  3. Hi! Your family photo is very cool. Raimieis always very cute in your photos. If you have a chance to go to Hanami, I recommend you to go to Shinjukugyoen. http://www.env.go.jp/garden/shinjukugyoen/english/ This park is national park, where drinking alcohol is prohibited.

  6. The cherry blossoms are so gorgeous. I like to come over your site to read some interesting post of yours about Japan. Really. Always remind my sweet memories there. But too bad, two times visited not once have the chance to see the cherry blossom.

  9. Ueno park is one of the most popular spots in Tokyo for hanami and cherry blossom viewing. It has been a really early season this year in Tokyo and the blossoms have already reached their peak. Expected to end mid week when the rain comes in. We are still waiting for the peak here in Gifu, which should be this weekend :)
